MASTER THIEF

Open up your heart my dear
Before I steal it from you
Because you don't deserve it
Anymore here to abuse

So how can you treat
Something oh so dear
Like a rag doll you feel like
And this ignorance that you fear
My dear ignorance that you fear

So give me that treasure
Before it tarnishing turns
Into a pile of disaster
Under which it now yearns

To rise like the phoenix
From the ashes of regret
To the heavens of desire
In my burning covet

I would carry it bold
Like Mercury on lighting
From those gods of old
To a new place unknown
A new place unknown

(Because you know)
In you I've dreamed
And cautiously ventured
Wandered your mind's halls
Sat in your gardens

Heard your bird's song
Sad but true
Your heart was guarded
And so were you

By gargoyles
Gonna scare away others
I see through the veil
I approach and I knock

You say stay out of here
Where not welcome to walk
Alongside your passions
And this innermost

Which I have sought
Innermost I have sought

So if your treasure's so great
I am the master thief
If you will not open your heart
To steal it must be my fate

Now the tricks in my bag
Will not work on you
Trust is not a game to play
Respect is not a clue
Respect is not a clue

To the mystery you cloak
Beneath expressions subdued
They are the very nature
Techniques of the master thief

As well my humble offerings
For any words unjust
Your open heart is all I seek
Or I'll steal it if I must
Yes I'll steal it if I must
