YOU POSSESS

First you imprison, and then you thieve
Have you no shame
Playing with my head and heart this way
Unintentional sorceress
Spellbound I sit
Catching glimpses as you pass
Laughing at myself
I run and hide by a friend's side
Unable to speak my mind
Only my smile and a wink
The rest I think and keep
To myself I sit
Wondering
Are you in the least
Attracted to me?

For an eternity the band braided
Beautiful threads into my canvas
Framed and hung
My evening's delights done
Until you sat before me
Heart in one hand
Key in the other
Your eyes told me you knew
And pitying the fool
Gracefully offered me the chance
To retrieve what you now possessed

This ending did not work
Left alone like a jerk
Passionately wondering
Content to excuse
And let the band once again
Braid away my blues

Electrified madness
My mind's passions
Obliviously misconstrued
While throughout the evening
Distracted uneasy
My thoughts consumed by you

If not interested then please
Gracefully dismiss me
So again I will attempt
Perhaps gaining your confidence
But consider one more chance
If I was in your thoughts
So I may retrieve
That which you still possess
