BETWIXT

Screaming in anguish of yesterday's plight
Looming, a still stalks cobblestone paths
Once a hideous crime of passionate untruth
Now leers the magnificent cold thought
The only way out is justly brave
AND LOSING OUR IDENTITIES WE ALL BECOME ONE

Exhausted memories fall apart in her eyes
Haunting the mind's halls, nothing to deny
Misunderstanding in the wind blowing by
That misguidance is just an unconscious lie
Brutal truths can cause circuits to fry
AND LOSING OUR IDENTITIES WE ALL BECOME ONE

Leaving the child to the shadows of night
Cringing in fear of unknown's cloaked wraith
The babe wails sorrow only loneliness can construe
Desolation now proves purchaser of souls caught
Alone we stalk pathways to our graves
AND LOSING OUR IDENTITIES WE ALL BECOME ONE
~
